The Taproom

The Taproom

Tuesday — Thursday ::  4pm — 10pm
Friday — Saturday ::  2pm — 12am
Sunday ::  2pm — 8pm

WE'RE OPEN:

Located in a building that was once home to a biscuit factory as well as Louisville’s first brewpub, our taproom and brewery are nestled behind a towering grain silo at 636 Barret Avenue.

Conveniently situated between Downtown and the Original Highlands, our large parking lot and proximity to public transportation make getting here a breeze.

Our taproom consists of multiple seating options and plenty of space to unwind. Up for a game? We have dartboards, ring toss, and Noah’s Arcade featuring a few classic arcade and pinball machines.

We put all of our time and effort into brewing great beer, so we’ve decided to leave the cooking to the experts. Food trucks are frequent visitors to the taproom, but beer lovers are also welcome to bring food with them or have something delivered from a local eatery.

The Brewery

The Brewery

BEERS ON BEERS ON BEERS.

Every drop of Mile Wide beer is brewed right here in our Louisville brewery. The production space is separated from our taproom by a floor to ceiling glass wall allowing you to enjoy your favorite Mile Wide beer while watching us craft your new favorite. Our system is capable of producing roughly 475 gallons of beer at a time. That’s nearly 3,800 pints! Mile Wide beer is currently available on draft only and can be found on tap at bars and restaurants throughout Kentucky.

BARSTOW

AMERICAN WHEAT ALE

Barstow pours a hazy straw gold, with aromas of summer wheat and sweet citrus. The beer is nicely balanced, with a pleasant creaminess. The finish is clean and begs for another drink...

IDLEWILD

PALE ALE

Idlewild pours a deep golden color. The body is light and the finish is dry with a pleasant bitterness. To keep things interesting, we rotate the hops in Idlewild every few months!

McPoyle

MILK STOUT

McPoyle pours dark as night with a light tan head. Chocolate flavors dominate the palate with a slightly roasted finish. This full bodied stout is delightfully sweet and velvety.

THE CROWLERS

THE CROWLERS

WHY CROWLERS?

...and NOT growlers?

We love our beer, and are excited and honored that our guests want to take some home with them. However, we don't offer Growler fills of any size at the Mile Wide Taproom. Instead, we offer all of our beers on tap in a 32oz Crowler, which we believe is the best to-go vessel for our beer. Among many other reasons, the aluminum can greatly reduces the beer's exposure to two of its worst enemies, light and oxygen.

To fill Crowlers, we go through a multi-step process to ensure that they're stable for a significantly longer period of time than a Growler. The Crowler is rinsed clean, purged with CO2, filled from our taps, and then capped and sealed on our Crowler seamer.

At the end of the day, we see Crowlers as a bonus for our fans. You’re saving roughly $1 per pint compared to our on-site pricing. You can leave with 32oz of two different beers, rather than 64oz of one. You don’t have to remember to bring a Growler with you. Lastly, we have the peace of mind knowing that our beer is tasting exactly how we intended it to. And that may be the best reason of all.
